MORE BLESSINGS to come! These are words never missed in one’s prayer whenever a new year begins or during birthday celebration. To receive added blessings for 2012, learn how to start the new year right. For this, Brahma Kumaris (BK), the school of mediation has some tips for everyone.

According to BK volunteer Engr. Aurora Felisa „Mona” Jonson-Reyes in order to receive blessings it is important to have an honest and open heart. Next is to serve with deep love and let the past be the past.

Another tip to remember every day is to be obedient to the Supreme Father, surrender and sacrifice your weaknesses, let there be humility, use everything in a worthwhile way, and maintain equanimity in praise and defamation.

Also included in the tips are to stay close to the Supreme Father’s family, remain tolerant, and have the feeling of learning.

Perhaps another tip to keep in mind is to have some time for your self for reflection to have a clear mind and real focus in life.

Having a focus in life will lead us into fulfilling our dreams. Just believe that it will happen. As the old king’s advise to Santiago who is in search of his Personal Legend in the book ‘The Alchemist’ by Paulo Coelho, “When a person really desires something, all the universe conspires to help that person to realize his dream.”

Meanwhile, January 14 is a special day for BK Center in Baguio as they will have an early celebration of the commemoration day on the spiritual ascension of the founder of Brahma Kumaris, Brahma Baba on January 18.

Reyes said BK volunteers and students all over the world will join in the ceremony in honor of Prajapita Brahma, known as Brahma Baba who proved to be an inspiring example to become perfect, master over the mind and emotions, and in taking charge of one’s own destiny.

She said the month of January once again reminds all BK volunteers and students of Brahma Baba’s tireless efforts to help humanity and become an inspiration to all.

Reyes also said that the occasion is also Brahma Kumaris’ Platinum Jubilee or the 75th year anniversary of its service to humanity, the time when Brahma Baba, in his retirement at the age of 61 founded the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University.
